Cashes Valley Off-Road Trail

Off-Roading at Cashes Valley

Located in Cherry Log, GA, about 20 minutes from Blue Ridge, GA and Ellijay, GA, Cashes Valley offers a great off-road day trip. The trail is located less than a mile from The Lazy Laurel cabin and has become a popular destination for owners of off-road vehicles and features many river crossings and great scenery. We owned our cabin for 6 months before we even knew the trail was there so I would say it is still a somewhat hidden gem in our little town of Cherry Log though the locals have been enjoying it for years. The trail is a relatively easy drive and your only risk would be high water at the river crossings, so make sure you check the depth especially after a hard rain. The trail is one way in and one way out with areas large enough to turn around and ends at an old cemetery. PLEASE NOTE: the trail is surrounded by private property. To ensure that we all get to continue to enjoy access to this area, PLEASE respect the environment, keep noise to a minimum and pick up any trash you see along the way.

Getting to the Cashes Valley Trail

The easiest way to find the start of the trail is by using this pin location in Google Maps. From downtown Blue Ridge, you will take HWY 5 to HWY 2 and then turn on to Cashes Valley Road. In about 2.6 miles, take a right on to the dirt road called Cashes Valley and continue straight at the fork to start the road to the trail.

From Ellijay, GA you will take Boardtown Road to Bushyhead Road. Bushyhead Road turns in to Cashes Valley Road and once you hit the newly paved portion, the turn off dirt road will be on your left right after Hickory Nut Trail.

The trail is located near a lot of great, Cherry Log cabin rentals.
