We’re a family of four, native Floridians who fell in love with the Blue Ridge area. We bought this cabin because it’s close to the outdoor stuff we love and just as close to town and its great restaurants. If anything feels off during your stay, please reach out and give us a chance to make it right.

Address: 205 Mountain View Dr, Cherry Log, GA 30522. Some GPS apps list it as “Rd” — make sure it routes you via Cashes Valley Rd and Hickory Nut Trail. The route from Ellijay is a gravel road for the last few miles; from Blue Ridge it’s paved the whole way. When you get to the top of the hill on Hickory Nut Trail, stay straight and take the first sharp right onto Mountain View and our cabin is located in the cul-de-sac at the end of the road.

Mountain Road Conditions: Just to state the obvious, some mountain roads can be steep and narrow if you aren’t used to them. The last 1/2 mile of your drive will be on our steep and narrow gravel neighborhood road. It is well maintained by our HOA and we have permanent resident neighbors that travel the road every day in their 2WD vehicles. Just take your time and enjoy the scenery! 4WD/AWD is only necessary in snow conditions.

Our driveway is steep but paved with enough room for any sized vehicle. Click on the parking link below to view details as well as a video showing how to park and turn around.

Open in Maps

The driveway is steep but textured concrete, with room for even a large vehicle to turn around (click button below for video). You’re also welcome to park in the cul-de-sac above the driveway.

Parking 2 Cars: The driveway is big enough for two small vehicles or one Larger and one smaller vehicle but turning around to exit the driveway will take a little more effort.

Exiting: To exit the driveway, turn around and then proceed up the driveway and make sure you don’t slow down at the top so that your wheels do not spin.

In snow or ice, park in the cul-de-sac until you’ve had a chance to assess conditions.

Once you’re connected, WiFi calling works even where cell coverage is hit or miss. Any issues, text Jamie.

NOTE: WiFi converage is provided by the white dome extenders on the top and bottom floors. Please leave them plugged in.

In the cabin

Three Roku smart TVs — log into any service you like, and remember to log out before you leave. The “Roku Channel” app has plenty of free options.

Blue screen? The input got changed. Switch back to the Roku HDMI input.

Controls: left button is the jets, middle is the lights. The dials on the edge control the air and the waterfall.

Water: it may look stained — that’s minerals in the well water, not dirt. After a refill it can look cloudy and takes about 2 to 3 hours to reheat.

Gas grill: piped to the large propane tank and controlled by the valve and timer on the wall behind the grill. Open the valve, set the timer and then light as usual.

Fireplace: The fireplace is gas as well and controlled by the buttons on the wall to the left of the fireplace. Select the desired amount of time and it will light automatically. Please don’t move the logs or the knobs inside the fireplace without checking with us first.

Fire pit: Please bring your own firewood. Home Depot and other local stores in town on the way in stock bundles of firewood. We try to supply a lighter but please bring one just in case.

Full coffee setup with both a pod maker and a regular drip maker. We leave a few pods to get you started, but plan to bring your own coffee.

Linens and paper goods are supplied by our cleaners.

Place trash in the metal chest by the AC unit and keep the lid closed. Our cleaning crew picks it up after departure.

The closed lid matters — we do have bears in the area.

Good to know
1
No smoking

Prohibited inside the property, including balconies and patios. Please ensure all smoking materials are extinguished outside as well to minimize the risk of fire.

2
No illegal activities

Including drug use, possession, or distribution.

3
No parties

Parties and large gatherings are not permitted. We have full time neighbors on the road so please keep noise to a minimum after 10PM.

4
Pets: up to 2 dogs

Please pick up after them. No pets on furniture or beds. An extra cleaning fee may apply for excessive hair.

5
Breakages happen

Just let us know so we can fix it before the next guests arrive. We won’t be upset and we can’t address what we don’t know about.

6
No candles

Strictly prohibited — this is a mostly wooden cabin.

Check-out is 10:00 AM. That gives our crew enough time to make the cabin perfect for the next guests.
